Corporate Party to Launch a new London Landmark Hotel
In December, we were approached by Weston Homes to produce a party to celebrate the completion of an exclusive new riverside development located on the South Bank of the Thames. As the development had just won the Best International High Rise Architecture award, the event had to reflect the stylish venue and make the most of its fabulous surroundings. Weston Homes wanted to entertain 200 guests that varied from the architects who had created the plans for the development, to potential future clients.
We had initially just been asked to put together a quote for the party itself but after a site visit, we suggested making a feature of the fantastic exterior of the building. We up-lit the building in the company colours of blue and white, which were made all the more striking by the reflections in the Thames.
We also added a bit of Hollywood glamour with the use of four Sky Tracker search lights and a red carpet entrance, complete with real flame gas flambeaux. Being situated next to the London Heliport, we had to liaise with the Civil Aviation Authority to ensure that our lighting effects didn’t interfere with any incoming aircraft!
Party guests were greeted on arrival by our staff with a glass of Champagne and directed onto the thirteenth floor where the party was taking place. Guests stepped out of a lift into a corridor that had been up-lit with LED colour blocks, decorated with fairy light wrapped branches and had the company logo projected onto the ceiling. These effects were carried on throughout the event space, even including the bathrooms.
The corridor led to the main party area which housed a 13ft diameter round bar that was branded with the Weston Homes logo and lit in blue. Guests were treated to a selection of drinks from a bespoke cocktail menu prepared by our award winning cocktail flairers. Entertainment was provided by a fantastic four piece Jazz band, as well as a walkabout magician. We provided a PA with speakers for speeches and background music, as well as a cd player with Ipod connection to ensure all needs were covered. Guests were able to relax and enjoy the music on a selection of our very popular chill out furniture, which ranges from comfortable low level sofas to stylish bar stools and poseur tables.
The main event area led to a large balcony from which guests could enjoy the fabulous views across the river. We lit this area in the company colours and installed real flame gas flambeaux, as well as sets of teak furniture for the guests to have a comfortable break out area.
The provision of our event managers and experienced staff ensured that the event ran smoothly and both the client and ourselves were delighted with the results. It was fantastic to work with the staff at Weston Homes and we would be delighted to work with them on any future projects.
